Most wardrobe doors are not a standard size. Alcoves, sloping ceilings and older fitted wardrobes mean a shop-bought door rarely fits. Fitted wardrobes usually have a solid frame. It is the doors that date first. Replacing only the doors gives the bedroom a new look for a fraction of the cost of a new fitted wardrobe, with no rip-out, no mess and no loss of storage.

Hinged wardrobe doors
Hinged wardrobe doors open fully, so you can see and reach the whole wardrobe at once. That is something sliding doors cannot do. They also suit narrow bedrooms where a sliding track would eat into floor space, and they can be fitted to most carcasses that already take a hinged door.- Made to measure: single or paired doors, any width from 100mm to 1200mm
- Hinge drilling: Wardrobe doors can be ordered pre-drilled for 35mm concealed hinges
- Soft-close hinges: available in our hinges range
- Tall doors: use at least three hinges on doors over about 1500mm high, and four or five on full-height doors
Shaker style wardrobe doors
A shaker door has a flat recessed centre panel inside a square frame. It is the most popular wardrobe style because it suits period homes and modern bedrooms equally well. Our shaker style wardrobe doors are all made to measure and come in painted-look matt colours and realistic woodgrains.
- Bella Shaker: the classic, with a clean recessed panel and straight edges
- Bella Cambridge: a broader frame with a gently recessed centre
- Bella Chester: traditional proportions, ideal for period and heritage-style rooms

How to measure for replacement wardrobe doors
- Measure the old door, not the opening. Take the height and width of each existing door in millimetres.
- Measure in three places. Check the width at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest figure.
- Check the hinge positions. Measure from the top and bottom of the door to the centre of each hinge cup, so new doors line up with your existing hinges.
- Note each door separately. Wardrobe doors in the same run are not always identical, so label them left to right.
